Social Media Room Rules:
Failure to follow these rules accordingly will result in the appropriate disciplinary action.
- All Pokemon Showdown! global rules apply to this room. You can view these rules here.
- You may post links to battles; however, you must not post the same battle twice and each time you post a battle you have to wait until the other link is not visible.
- You may post links to your posts/videos in the chat; however, you may not post them for your own personal gain, as this faults as blatant advertising. Posting links of your videos should be about getting constructive criticism on your works. Showing that you care about your content is one of the most effective methods used to grow your outlet!
- You are not allowed to advertise your social outlet homepage (e.g. YouTube channel). This applies to all social media sites. You may post it in PMs; however, the other person will need to agree with this.
- Do not advertise your league in the chat room. This is not the room to advertise your leagues and you will be punished for doing so.
- Please do not ask in chat if a certain user/YouTuber is in the room. You can simply look in the user list to the side or type /user [username] into the main chat bar.
- If you would like to stream, you must PM a staff member for approval, and allow them access to the stream prior to advertising it in chat. Staff members are users with a %, @, or # next to their names. Unapproved streams will be link broken immediately. Please post your approval along with advertisement.
- You are allowed to advertise your YouTube/Twitch streams under some circumstances. You must be streaming Pokemon Showdown! unless approved by room auth, and you must be streaming in the Social Media room, just to avoid confusion to the viewers. Spamming your stream link will result in you getting muted and you may not be allowed to advertise your stream. You must wait until your previous advertisement is not visible in the chat box without scrolling up. Once the link is gone, you may post it again. The initial portion of this rule may be altered in case of collaboration stream events with other rooms.
- If you are a YouTuber/Twitcher who has over 20,000 subscribers/followers and you wish to stream, please notify a Room Owner (#) first. If there are no available Room Owners, please contact a Room Moderator (@). Due to past experiences with users posting links to their streams without notice, we've had problems with users who join the chat room and start to spam with no staff in preparation. Please also have evidence that you are subscribed/followed by that many people.
- Streamers must also watch what they say in their streams. Mild swearing is okay, but anything excessive or offensive whilst commentating will result in you not being allowed to advertise your stream anymore. Failure to do this will result in disciplinary action.
- If you are streaming in the room, you may ask to be temporarily promoted to Room Voice (+) so users know where to find you. Abusing voice commands in chat while you are streaming will result in you being demoted and/or banned from the room.
- Failure to stop your stream after you have been asked will result in a hour-long mute or a room ban. Please follow the staff's directions.
